“Whatever that elusive 'it' might be we collectively seek, Ric Morgan has found 'it'. I am amazed at his ability to take complex roadblocks to success and offer simple, easy to understand solutions that can be implemented easily and immediately. Ric offers an easy, step-by-step approach. He is a consummate public speaker, motivator and teacher whose ability is to communicate to his listeners the simple keys of life. Pay attention to this man...”

Don McCauley

Business Executive and Radio Host

In spite of the fact that I have over 36 years of experience as a speaker...

SO WHAT?

Even though I have spoken live to nearly three million people and countless others on radio and television…

SO WHAT?

What counts is what I can do for you and your group...

NOW!

It's my responsibility to make sure you get a fresh, informative, entertaining, fun and exciting presentation; otherwise all of those years of experience aren't worth anything.

Every presentation is customized to fit your needs and the theme of your program, convention, conference or meeting. You don't have to settle for a canned message because the speaker only knows how to do it one way. I do my best to keep current in the news and trends of not only my industry, but business and society in general, so I can keep my messages fresh and up-to-date. I have not been using the same old tired messages year-after-year. If you were to hear me speak tomorrow using one of my core messages, but customized to a particular theme, next year you might hear the same basic core message, but delivered in fresh "package" customized to the needs of a new and different audience. No two audiences are the same, and each deserves to hear the best I have to offer. It is my goal to have people feel they have not only learned something they can assimilate and use in their daily life or business, but to also feel they were entertained in the process. In other words, I strive to leave them wanting more.

You and the needs of the audience are extremely important to me. The amount of repeat business is an indicator of that.

I walk the walk...if I don't walk it I can't talk it, or I'm lying to the audience (and myself). If I’m telling your audience what to do, that’s what I do…no telling them one thing and living another. I also live my Mission Statement: Using oral and written communications, I educate, inform, inspire, motivate and entertain audiences on the principles of business and personal achievement.

There are a lot of people in the speaking business today who are in it for quick, easy money, but they don’t last very long. In a year or two they seem to disappear from the scene. With over 36 years experience I have been it for the long haul, and I believe my work shows that.

What Can I Do for You? I do what I can to contribute to the success of what you are doing, and the goals you are striving to reach. I am present...in the moment...not thinking about the next job, or what's going on in my life personally. I owe to you, your audience, and even myself, to be the very best I can at all times.

Last-Minute Emergency Services

  • The speaker you have booked just called and canceled, and the convention is in three days.
  •  It's Friday evening and your minister has had a heart attack and you need someone to fill-in on Sunday.
  • It's Thursday afternoon and everything seems ready to go for the weekend workshop starting Friday evening for the 500 employees of the company, when you suddenly remember you forgot to book a presenter/speaker/workshop leader (don't laugh...it has really happened!).

What are you to do?

First, don't panic! Next, call me!

...there are many times that I am available to speak on short notice, or I can move things around, or change plans to accommodate you. You will not have to pay a premium for my speaking services over the regular cost. Just be mindful that air fares and hotels frequently charge more for last-minute service.

I have received a call, made a quote, made all the travel arrangements and been to the airport and on a flight in as little as four hours. It's difficult, but it can be done.

In May, 2008 I received a call at 2:00 a.m., asking me if I could speak at a church at 8:00 a.m. that morning in a city about a six hour drive from where I live. Not only was I able to get myself out of bed and on the road in a matter of minutes, but was early enough I could get a shower, and dressed in clean clothes in time for the first service at 8:00 a.m.

In another instance, the meeting planners of a rather large, multi-hotel convention being held in Las Vegas had hired a very highly-priced celebrity to do the keynote presentation at the kick-off luncheon where over 5,000 people would be seated and served in one huge exhibit hall. The morning before the presentation, the agent called to say the celebrity was ill and would not be able to make the trip to Las Vegas. Spending a couple of hours on the telephone trying to get someone else, one the meeting planners remembered that I had stepped in at the last moment for her once before. She told the others about me and the last-minute service I offer, and they agreed to call me. At 1:00 p.m. I received the call asking me if I could make the appearance, and that they would not need to get a quote from me, as they were willing to pay whatever I charged. They also said I would not need to book hotel accommodations as I could use the suite reserved for the no-show celebrity and also the limousine that was being provided for them during their entire stay in Vegas. As soon as I hung up the telephone, I called Continental and got the last seat out of Knoxville to Houston that day, and the only remaining seat (in first-class) from Houston to Las Vegas. I booked the flights, quickly packed a bag and was out the door for the two-hour drive to the Knoxville airport from where I live. I arrived after midnight in Las Vegas, and the biggest limousine I had ever seen was waiting for me. In the limo was the woman who had booked me at the last minute praising me up one side and down the other for bailing her out again. In less than 12 hours I was delivering a customized keynote address before an audience of 5,000 hungry people. It went very well, and after the lunch I was taken back to the airport to catch my flights home. Just before I left, I presented the bill for the last-minute flight arrangements, and my speaking fee. The lead planner was literally shocked by what she saw on the paper. The airfare she had expected, but when she saw how reasonable my speaking fee was...the celebrity was charging $100,000 for a 30-minute presentation and my bill was $12,500...she said she would be using me a lot in the future, and she has been good to her word.

LISTEN TO AN EXCERPT ON KEEP IT SIMPLE AND SMART

A FEW COMMENTS FROM CLIENTS AND AUDIENCE MEMBERS

As the new national director for this organization it is my goal to get the women in touch with the reality that they have some responsibility for what has happened to them, and that it is not just the man's fault. This is not a popular POV amongst the membership at the national, state or local levels, so I knew from the beginning it was going to be an uphill battle. When planning our national convention, once I explained what I was looking for, I was having trouble finding a speaker that would not only cover the topic, but speak the TRUTH! Someone suggested I call Ric Morgan, and I was glad I did. Even though he was thrown into the lion's den with some very hungry animals, he even went so far as to address the fact at the very beginning that what he had to say wasn't going to please everyone in the audience, and he was very right about that. He spoke the TRUTH about the situation, angering and upsetting a number of women in the room, many of whom got up and left before he was done. But he maintained his cool, kept right on the topic and delivered the exact message I wanted to get across to these "ladies." I have nothing but praise and admiration for what he did, and recommend him to other groups with complete assurance they will get the best he has to offer.

I attend a lot of meetings, conferences and conventions every year and find most of the speakers to be boring, self-serving (buy my books...buy my tapes) and less than stellar. When I came to the meeting where you were speaking, I was on my fifth convention of the year so far, and it wasn't even June yet. I was not a happy person anyway. I had had a lot of problems with the airlines, my hotel reservation was refused because they were overbooked and they sent me to another hotel that was at best dirty. So I was not prepared to sit through another kick-off luncheon listening to another boring speaker. That was until you came on and within 30 seconds had me laughing very hard, and kept me laughing as you worked toward the main theme which was Joy. Even then you kept it light and fun, and I can say you were the very first speaker I have not only enjoyed in a long time, but got something from that I will use in my daily life for, I'm sure, a very long time. What a gift you gave me, and I will never forget you. I really look forward to seeing you again someplace along the way. God bless you, and what you do. Please keep up the good work.

Boy, I can only say you're my hero! I was sure I was going to be out of business when this convention and show was over because four of my speakers, presenters and workshop leaders bailed on me at the last minute. But true to your word, you not only showed up with time to spare, but also volunteered to take on the sessions of three of the speakers, besides the keynote address I had hired you for...and all at the same price. I almost passed out when you did that. I can see why you've been in business so long, and why you do so much repeat business. I am hired to plan a lot of meetings, conventions and conferences every year, and when I got back home to prepare for the next one that was coming up just two weeks later, I sent a memo to all my staff...HIRE THIS GUY WHENEVER YOU CAN GET HIM. DON'T ASK WHY, JUST DO IT. We need more people like you who do as you say, walk the walk. And you will always be one of my very special heroes.

Thank you, Dr. Morgan, for coming to talk to all of the employees of our company. As you know through the use of teleconferencing we were able to "broadcast" your wonderfully inspiring message to all our facilities Worldwide. We stopped production for the thirty minutes of your presentation and invited and encouraged all off-duty employees to attend, as well. As you know, our corporation has been going through some very difficult times during the past few years, resulting in plant close-downs and layoffs. It has been a traumatic experience for our whole "family" of employees. It was extremely nice of you to come to speak to us on such short notice, as we prepared to make the announcement of another round of layoffs. While nothing can take away the pain of losing a job and facing economic uncertainty, your words showed a genuine link between you and all of us...you really do understand how we feel and it showed in your warm, kind, loving words of encouragement and support. I have heard nothing but praise for your presentation from dock workers in one of our plants, all the way to the executive officers and board of directors. I hope we never have to do this again, but if we do, without question we will know who to call...a person who shares our pain, grief, and is willing to be there when we need him. Thank you so very much.

The day you came to speak at an assembly at my high school, I had serious plans to kill myself after school. The gun was hidden at home and loaded. I was sure it would happen because I didn't see any reason  to go on with my failed life. Then I heard you speak, and it changed everything. I normally sleep during these kinds of things and am just glad for an excuse to get out of class. But for some reason I listened. You were positive, funny, and seemed like a really nice guy. So I listened for a few minutes, planning to go to sleep. But you kept me entertained, and you had a very strong talk. It was like you were talking right to me. Everything I had been thinking about you talked about. The one thing I remember most was when you said something about failure being a good thing. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. When we went back to class all I could think about was what you had said, and by the time I got home, I had changed my mind. I found the gun, unloaded it and put it back to where it was supposed to be. I finished high school without failing and am now taking classes at a vo-tech to learn welding and metal work. When I'm done I'll get a job at a local plant that hires a lot of welders. They will train me even more, and in two years I can join the union and be making some really good money. All I can say is thanks to you, I didn't kill myself.

●●●

I like the way you put things. Yes, some of the material is the same as I've heard before, but you have a talent for making it sound fresh. And you're funny, too.

●●●

I heard a lot of comments from many of our employees after the weekend conference we held. Most of them varied from the usual, but something I heard repeated several times is how blunt, honest and truthful you are. You talked about being a person who walks the walk, and it's very obvious you do practice what you preach.

●●●

There is no question we will have you back again and again. I have worked with literally hundreds of speakers and presenters as a meeting planner for over 30 years and I have to say you are one of the nicest and most pleasant I have ever dealt with. You place no "demands" on us, just a couple of simple requests that were easy to comply with. I just wish more were like you.

●●●

Thank God you don't have any books or tapes to sell. I am sick and tired of going to places where the speaker is a live commercial for their overpriced "stuff." I want to yell to them, "Please God, shut up about your overpriced crap and tell us something we don't already know."

●●●

With over 5,000 people in attendance at our convention you are bound to find a few who don't like the speakers. We always ask attendees to complete a survey when they get back home and have a chance to think about their experience, and we usually get about a 30% return. This is the first time everyone who returned their survey liked the keynote speaker, with words like honest, funny, warm, generous, friendly, and professional amongst the comments. Thanks for doing such a good job.

●●●

You should see some of the contracts and lists of demands we get from speakers, even those just starting out. But your terms are very easy to understand, you really have no list of demands, and you are easy to get along with. The booking process was a snap, you delivered more than we could have expected, and as you say about yourself, you're definitely low maintenance.

●●●

I didn't know it was OK to laugh in church...I haven't laughed that hard in years. But with all that you got your message about Joy acrost and I have doing my best to live like you said everyday.

Some truth

Not everyone has liked me and I feel, in all fairness, it's important to include some of those comments.

You stink. Why anyone would pay any amount of money to hear you is beyond me.

●●●

They could send a trained monkey to do a better job than you do. A lot of people thought you were "wonderful." GAG! I thought you were a boring bag of wind. You said you've been doing this over 25 years...it's time to think about retirement.

●●●

I have lost your telephone number...thank God!
